Hio familyo! Howo areo youo doingo? Myo Spanisho iso reallyo comingo alongo huho? hahahahahha Dad cracks me up! I read one of his letters he wrote trying to practice his ¨spanish¨ hahaha so funny!!!! I will give you spanish lessons when I get home dad!
(FYI - I sent Jacque copies of the letters Dan wrote home while he was on his mission. This is what she is referring to!)
Well the new mission address is: Misión Ecuador Quito Calle Robles E4-515 y Ave. Amazonas Casilla: 17-03-078 Quito, Pichincha, Ecuador I`m pretty sure you doin`t have to write the Casilla number or Pichincha, but whatever you want to do! So how is everyone doing? It sounds like everyone is having a fun summer!! Things are going great here! We met President Ghent this week! He is soooo tall! But they are really great, I like them! They are from Cali, they have 5 kids all married except one is on a mission is Brazil. So they are here alone! The Sloan`s had 2 daughters with them.. Anyway it will be fun working with them! Roberto, Gabriela and Dina got baptized this Friday!! It was a great baptism! The only one from their family that came was Dina`s mom.. Roberto and Gabriela`s mom said she couldn`t come cause she had to work. The reason we had it on Friday was so that she could come... So that really made us sad. I love these people but they really test my patience sometimes! They have a very different culture and I jsut don`t understand but that is okay because I still love them!
So the other day we were contacting and we met this kid who is about 15 or so and he said he didn`t believe in Christ! That made me so sad and my heart jsut hurts for him. I don`t know how you can`t believe in Christ. He thinks He was just a normal person and he believes the Bible is just a book. We made an appointment to go back and visit him but when we got there he didn`t want to see us. We are going to go back again but I am just so sad for him. On a brighter note! We were contacting last Monday and we started talking to this family and we set a date with them right there in the street! It was amazing and I know we were supposed to find them. The daughter, Johana, was moving to an appartment on our street so we went to see her a few days later and she says she knows she was supposed to meet us; that we are two angels sent to her. She is a single mom with a 7 year old boy and she just has such amazing beliefs! She is basically LDS just not baptized! yet! Anyway It turns out her parents aren`t her parents, they are just friends. Her mom passed away 7 years ago and her dad lives in Spain. We haven`t been able to meet with them but we are going to soon! Johana didn`t come to church though.. We went by to pick her up and no one answered and she hasn`t answered her phone. I wish I had a cell phone so I could call her any minute I wanted to. I will never take a cell phone for granted again. Anyway so I`m not sure what is going on.. She said she was leaving for vacation this week but she wasn`t going to leave until Sunday night so she could go to church. Maybe she ended up leaving. Anyway that`s the scoop on her. The Yèpes family is doing well. He had to have an interview with the president so they won`t be able to be baptized for a few more weeks.. His brother didn`t come to church, I`m not sure how interested he is. His mom has been traveling cause her sister in law is sick so she didn`t come to church either. But Jose and Elizabeth are doing well! I love this gospel and I am so grateful for my testimony of it. I really don`t know how people live without it. I love being a missionary and I love all of the experiences I am having. Thank you for all that you do for me. I couldn`t be here without you and your support! I hope you have a great week!! xoxoxoXo Love forever and always, Hermana Nelson
